Fungal genomics is a scientific discipline that concerns the genome, encompassing the entire hereditary information, of fungi. Using whole genome de novo sequencing, a bacterium or fungi whose genome sequence or genomic information of a related species is unknown can be completely obtanied by sequencing, splicing and assembling. 
With the development of High-throughput sequencing technologies,  de novo sequencing has replaced the traditional method to become an important tool for exploring bacterial and fungal genomic structure, evolutionary genetic mechanism and key functions, contributing to a better understand of the role of bacterium in disease, agriculture and environment.
