Proteomics

Service Overview

Compared to studies on genome and transcriptome level, proteomics targets at biomolecules that directly drive biological functions. Proteomics refers to high-throughput study on the sum of all proteins from a biological substance, such as cells, tissue, body fluids, etc. It is a powerful discipline in revealing protein features in terms of quantity, post-translational modifications, protein-protein interactions, etc.

Proteomic Analysis

Mass-spectrometry based proteomics allows quantification of proteins in batches. Methods in protein quantification can mainly classified into two categories based on whether isotope labeling is involved: 1)Isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) and 2) Label-free quantification.

Joint Analysis of Proteomics and Transcriptomics

Proteomics and transcriptomics are both powerful strategies in revealing biological mechanisms and laws. As known to all, biological process is a complex process involving multi-level cooperations. Therefore, it is rather weak to limit our study in single omics technology. Joint analysis on proteome level and transcriptome level reveals not only protein and transcriptome profile, it also provides landscape on interactions and correlations between two levels.
