As a next-generation sequencing technology, Nanopore has been widely used in scientific research. Biomarker has been committed to the exploration and development of the ONT platform. It currently has three generations of sequencing platforms such as MinION, GridION X5 and PromethION.
The ONT sequencing platform recognizes the base sequence by electrical signals. When the DNA/RNA single chain passes through the pore, different bases form a characteristic ion current change signal. By detecting these signals, the base sequence is obtained and sequencing is completed.

Advantages and Application Areas
Since 2017 Biomarker has focused on the research and development of the Nanopore platform project. It has completed the sequencing service of 150+ species, accumulated a wealth of project experience, and shortened the database sequencing period to 30 days(data≤200G).
1.The Long-reads generated by nanopore sequencing will be better applied to genome assembly;
2. Advantages of long reads for structural variation analysis; more conducive to the detection of SV, CNV;
3. Base modification detection; eg. Findding DNA methylation with high-throughput nanopore sequencing;
4. A full-length transcriptome is used analysis of species identification, unknow or fusion transcripts,and lncRNAs;
5. Cost-effective and Real-time sequencing.
MinION due to its small size and easy operation can be directly used in clinical analysis, pathogen detection and other fields.
